Welcome
Welcome to the Tonbridge and West Kent website. The partnership is based at The Hayesbrook School. We work with 37 primary schools and 7 secondary schools in the local area to improve the quality and provision of PE and School Sport. The aim is to provide every pupil with the opportunity to participate in 5 hours of PE and community activity /sport. We work with other local agencies to try to put this opportunity in place.

Mini Squash Festival
Congratulations to The Slade Primary School who represented our Partnership in a Mini Squash Final at Mote Park at the end of last term, competing against other Partnerships across the county.
Slade took the lead throughout the whole day in squash-like events, including: Roll-a-Cone, Team Relays, Racket Roll-a-Ball, Catch Team Rally, Squicket, Reliable Rally and Team Squash, narrowly missing out on first place in the final game of Squicket by 4 points.
The Finals were the result of Mini Squash courses delivered to schools across Kent by England Squash coaches that were ended with a festival, with the winners representing their area.
Throughout the courses schools were linked to their local squash club to encourage continued participation outside of the school setting, for all pupils involved.
Well Done to all those pupils who took part!

Woodlands Junior School wins the league shields
Both Woodlands football teams walked away with the winners shields in a league event which was held at Long Mead Football ground.
This was a league event run over 6 weeks playing different schools from the area. In this tournament there were a lot of hard teams but as a great team we fought back with lots of great team performances. Both teams battled through all different weathers but we did not let that bother us as we were determined to finish the games with wins. From all of us in the team, I suspect everybody's favourite bit was when both teams won our last game to ensure we were the champions!! Every game we had everybody played their hearts out because we were determined to bring the shield away with us and Woodlands A and B were both successful. From all of the team, we would like to thank everybody who came and supported us through the wet and cold nights, thank you Mrs Kennedy for organising it and also like to thank Mr Childs who helped referee some games and supported us all the way. Thank you again to everybody who supported us. Last of all a special thank you must go out to all the team players. Well done boys!!!

Multi Skill Academy
This year proved to be another success for the partnership's Multi Skills Academy that ran over the Easter holiday. The 4 day Academy was organised for Gifted and Talented pupils from years 5, 6 and 7 across the Partnership's primary and secondary schools.
Each day consisted of a progressive multi skills session that aimed to develop master, progress and achieve on fundamental movement skills. Each session was designed in a non-threatening way to allow each of the pupils to develop at their own level to maximise their success.
As a way of introducing pupils to a variety of traditional and new sports to encourage a range of sports participation, 2 additional activities were included into the daily time table. These included Team Building, Extreme Golf, Urban Rebounding, Volley Ball, Basketball and Tag Rugby. The final day was finished off in the morning with a Multi Skills Festival, including all activities that were delivered throughout the week with all pupils showing great development. This was followed by a Rounders festival in the afternoon, with all pupils taking part, showing great team spirit!
A big ‘Thank You' to all the Coaches and PE Teachers that delivered each of the sessions, which were all of high quality, well structured, and enjoyable. Also to the Sports Leaders, from our Partnerships secondary schools who lead the groups through their time table and assisted in the delivery of the activities. They all worked extremely hard and were all a great asset to their schools!
It is evident from the comments below that for the second year running ‘FUN' was clearly put into our delivery of fundamental skill development.
"There were no activities I didn't enjoy"
"I would really like to do more Multi Skills and rugby in my school, I really enjoyed them"
I really enjoyed Urban Rebounding, I had never done it before"
"I'd like to start doing Volleyball at my school"
"The Sports Leaders in my group were really helpful and friendly"
